Spicing up the teabaggin'

I've been working on a 30-45 minute live Sexie Veggies show to possibly produce later in 2014. It's a lot of work that needs a lot of inspiration. Lately I've been watching copious amounts of The Galloping Gourmet and Graham Kerr's crazy antics.

He's handsome, funny, and knows how to fondle an onion.

But between watching him slip his knife inside a bell pepper and discuss long grain "perverted" rice he did something absolutely magical and I want to share this simple tip with you.

The Spice Bag

Graham Kerr was making a jambalaya and needed to add whole spices for flavor but wanted to remove the whole spices when the jambalaya was done stewing. For years I've been making Sexie chilli and fishing out the bay leaves before serving. But never again!

He cleverly takes a square of cheesecloth and places all the whole spices in the center. Then he ties the ends together to make a porous little tea bag of spices. He places it in the jambalaya and when it's done stewing, he takes the bag out! Easy!

So spice it up this holiday season with this simple but brilliant tip. Mull some wine or cider and feel just a bit more cleverly Sexie.
